A Practical Engagement Guide for Exhibitions and MICE
01

Clarify the role of the interaction

An exhibition engagement can attract attention, explain a message, qualify interest or reward participation. These are different jobs. A motion game may create energy at the edge of a stand, an RFID interaction can connect physical objects to information, and an AI output can provide a personalised takeaway. Select the concept after defining what should happen immediately after a visitor participates.
02

Design for throughput

Visitor volume changes throughout an exhibition day. Keep instructions visible, reduce unnecessary steps and plan a queue that does not block the stand. Estimate the interaction time and decide whether staff will invite participation or guests can begin independently. Content should remain understandable in a noisy environment where attention is limited.
03

Connect technology with follow-up

If the experience includes data capture or digital delivery, define consent, fields, storage and follow-up ownership before the event. Test the complete journey under venue network conditions and maintain a fallback where appropriate. The most effective MICE engagement connects creative technology with a useful conversation rather than operating as an isolated attraction.
